Ayla's 1st Birthday & Quilts I've made

I just added another slide show to my blog. In the slide show, of course, is pictures of Ayla and her 1st birthday party. But I also got pictures of the quilts I made for Courtnie and Christopher a few years ago. So I felt it appropriate to share those on this blog. I guess you could say, I am hung up on slide shows. They are so cool.....................and fun to watch. Hope you enjoy!

Christopher's quilt is the Monkey Wrench or churn-dash. I designed my pattern by interlocking the pattern instead of the traditional block with a sash. I saw it on a Simply Quilts show and figured it out on my own. I'm not sure when I made this one but several years ago. I'll have to research that and get back with you on that. I embroidered smiley faces doing different sports and quilted it with neon thread. He got it for Christmas one year and I also gave him a black light so when he just had the black light on, the quilting would glow in the dark. There was a surprise smiley face quilted in. Lots of fun.

Courtnie's quilt is called Stargazy Daisy. I took a class with Suzy Richie at Prescillas Quilt shop, now closed. I made this as graduation gift and never got pictures of it. I didn't have time since I wanted her to have it before graduation so that her friends could sign the back of it. This is my first pictures of it. I made it in 2006.
