Sewing for Me
I haven't been good about keeping the blog updated. Been too busy sewing. But I have a few minutes so I'll do that now. I was able to complete 2 sewing projects for myself. I made me a blouse and a skirt. Hooray for me. I got Zack's quilt ready to quilt and put it aside so I could work on me. I am going on a mission trip to Red Oak, OK June 17-25, 2009 and needed a couple of things for church. I want to make some more things for our upcoming revival in August. So I will have the month of August to get with the program. I got 2 gift cards to Hobby Lobby. I bought lightweight knits with the money and that's what I am sewing right now. I needed some fabric that would drape well and this fit the bill. It's different to sew and I was using a 90/14 ball point which is to big and it caused some problems. I looked through my needles and found some for jersy knits 80/12 which was perfect. It remedied the problems. The bigger needle made the fabric ripple and also made some holes in the fabric that I had to repair. The knits are selling good so hopefully they will keep us stocked with some pretty fabric. I got some of just about all they had. It all had pink in it so I was happy. I love PINK. I was thinking blouses but the knits make good skirts too. I have a few skirt patterns and decided to try one. I really like the outcome of it. I'm done sewing now till after our trip. Then I've got to finish Zack's quilt for his trip with his Nana.
